    Greater Manchester News

The Met Office has issues a yellow weather warning for very strong winds which will push across the region from approximately 5am until 5pm on Tuesday (10th December).

The winds could cause traffic disruption and localised damage in some areas.

Tuesday will be wet and windy as locally heavy rain lingers across the region through the day.

Maximum temperature will be around 13 Celsius.

Wednesday and Thursday will be cold and windy which could have an effect on the General Election if voters opt to stay in doors rather than face the cold rain showers forecast for Thursday (12th December).

Some delays to road, rail, air are likely, especially around Manchester Airport

Probably some bus and train services will affected, with some journeys taking longer, made worse by spray and surface water

Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes across high motorway bridges will be likely

Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
