HEAVY TRAFFIC ON THE LOCAL MOTORWAYS FOLLOWING A MULTI VEHICLE CRASH ON THE M62

Traffic is heavily congested on the M62 following an incident involving multiple vehicles on the M62 between junction 12 (Eccles Interchange) and junction 11, causing an eight mile tailback. The incident has had a knock on effect which has resulted on other roads around the area with slow moving traffic on the westbound carriageway of the M62 towards Warrington.

The crash reportedly involved three cars and a truck, although that has not been confirmed.

Initially all lanes were closed but two lanes (of four) have been reopened and traffic is slowly being allowed to pass.

Drivers are advised to find alternative routes around the area.
