LONG TAILBACKS AFTER INCIDENT ON THE M60 CLOSE TO ECCLES

Motorists are being advised to find alternative routes after an incident on the anti-clockwise carriage way of the M60 near Eccles Junction 11 left lanes blocked.

The nature of the incident is unclear but a witness claimed that a car was seen being driven the wrong way along the carriageway, however, this is unconfirmed.

One lane has now reopened but traffic remains heavy with tailbacks of almost four miles with heavy congestion affecting some A roads in the area.
