There are long delays and huge queues stretching back as far as 9-miles along the M60 towards the Worsley Junction 13, due to a road surface defect requiring emergency repair work on the anti-clockwise carriageway.

Two lanes have been closed off which has lead to huge problems for drivers seeking to get to work this morning.

It is not known how long the repairs will take, so drivers are being advised to seek alternative routes around the area for the time being.

As you would expect, roads in the surrounding area have also been impacted, traffic through worsley is particularly bad as drivers opt to leave the motorway.
