There are reports that a man has sadly died following an incident which saw all traffic stopped on a section of the M67 earlier this morning.

At around 8:00am the westbound section between junctions four and three was closed by police as they responded to reports of a body having been found on the hard shoulder following concerns for a mans welfare.

Traffic has since been diverted off the carriageway which is to said to remain closed for the rest of the morning as police conduct their investigation.

Delays should be expected if heading into the area. so motorists may be wise to avoid it or choose and alternative route where possible.

    A spokesperson for GMP, said:
