Roadworks are set to return to Folly Lane from Monday 16th of May as work to correct problems with the accumulation of water and incorrect road markings which have prevented the opening of the new pedestrian crossing which was installed as part of the Swinton Greenway Project.

Salford Council has announced that both it and contractor Casey have been working through several challenges needed to fix the issue at the crossing in order to open it as soon as possible.

Investigations, redesigns, obtaining materials and gaining the necessary permits has led to delays in the work being completed.

The work to correct the problem starts on Monday 16th May and is set to last a week.

During the initial roadworks there were severe disruptions along the busy road between Swinton and Monton as temporary traffic lights and lane closures caused huge problems which impacted other roads in the area.

Drivers are being advised to expect some further disruption as the work is carried out.
