There were significant road closures in place on the M602 between Manchester and Salford this morning after a two car collision forced the eastbound carriageway to be closed.
At around 11.50am on Friday 17 January 2020, police were called to reports of a collision involving two vehicles on the eastbound carriageway between junctions J1 (M60/M62) and J2 (Eccles).
The road road was temporarily closed between junctions one and two but has now since reopened.
Highways England say they had expected the traffic to clear from between 14:30 and 14:45 this afternoon but evidently that has now happened sooner.
Emergency services attended the scene and police has said that it is not currently in a position to confirm injuries at this time.
Traffic is now moving freely if a little slowly
GMP say that no arrests have been made and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage should contact police on 0161 856 4741 quoting 1101 17/01/20.
