TRAFFIC DISRUPTION IN ECCLES AFTER A ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT ON PEEL STREET

Emergency services are currently in attendance at the scene of a Road Traffic Accident this evening, which has occurred on Albert Street leading onto Peel Street in, opposite the Aldi store in Eccles.

We are being told that a vehicle has been involved in a collision with a cyclist.

Police have cordoned off several roads in the area whilst they conduct their investigations.

Access to Peel street is said to be currently blocked off from Church Street, however, access is still possible from the direction of Monton, over the motorway bridge down into Eccles.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.

The condition of the cyclist is currently unknown at this time, we have contacted GMP and NWAS for further information.
