The election for the Walkden South ward had been postponed by the Returning Officer Jim Taylor after the unfortunate death of a candidate.
George Andrew Darlington (aged 68) was standing as the Conservative Party candidate but sadly took ill and later died at the end of April.
As a result the ward did not get a chance to elect at the same time as the rest of Salford and so a new date was set for Thursday the 20th of June.
Polling Stations will open around the ward from 7am and remain open until 10pm, with the results announced once the votes have been counted later that night.
