The Met Office has issued an updated weather warning as Storm Babet makes it's way in from the Atlantic and across the country tomorrow.

An Amber warning for rain has been issued for parts of Greater Manchester with much of Salford covered by a less severe Yellow warning.

The warnings come into force at 6pm today and run until 6am on Saturday.

Motorists are being advised to drive with caution due to slippery roads and reduced visibility caused by both heavy rain and spray.

Storm Babet is already the second storm of the season, with more wet and wild weather predicted over the coming Winter.

The Met says that there could be increased risks of flooding across the region following a rare red warning which was issued for parts of Scotland yesterday.
