As storm Dudley blows away, storm Eunice is fast approaching with winds of up to 100mph in some areas of the UK.
As the latest winter storm barrels towards the UK, the Met Office has issued a rare Red Alert warning for parts of the South Wales coast, Devon and Cornwall.
The government has held a Cobra Meeting this morning to discuss the response needed to what could be the worst storm in 32 years.
Greater Manchester has been issued with an Amber Warning for wind and is expected to receive a brutal battering once more. It is possible that there will be damage to buildings and homes.
The day will start off with a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers at first, although cloud will tend to increase and more widespread showers are likely for a time this afternoon.
Showers could be wintry over the hills. Feeling chilly in brisk winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
As the day progresses into night, winds and showers will begin easing for a short time until storm Eunice arrives after midnight bringing a spell of heavy rain and possible hill snow in higher areas, accompanied by strengthening winds again. Minimum temperature 0 °C.
Saturday will be considerably less windy as the storm progresses along its track.
Last night storm Dudley caused havoc upon local travel with high winds causing localised damage to fences and tree's, Salford was relatively unscathed, although one unfortunate soul had the misfortune to have part of a wall fall upon his car on Newport Street in Seedley.
Fortunately no one was in the vehicle at the time.
People are being warned not to venture out if possible and if you have to, please take care as flying debris can be dangerous.
If driving, avoid high elevations like hills and bridges if in high sided vehicles.
